Last year we were contacted by the Swiss directing duo, sisters Kim and Florine Nüesh, requesting for Stephen Rennicks to score their short film Forget Me Not. They were blown away by his score for the multi-Oscar-nominated film, Room - they felt he was the perfect composer to tell their story. On reading their wonderfully crafted script, Stephen immediately agreed to collaborate with Kim and Florine, and the results have been fantastic.
Set in the 1970s the film centres around two young girls who struggle with their mother’s bipolar disease – a condition that disrupts their lives and burdens them to grow up early. This semi-autobiographical film tells the story about the relationship between mothers and daughters and how caring roles within families are often interchangeable.
Since wrapping production Forget Me Not has previewed at globally recognised film festivals, and Kim and Florine were awarded a 'Young Director Award' for their short at the 2018 Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity.
