‘The Clapping Song’ was written by Lincoln Chase, originally arranged by Charles Calello and recorded by Shirley Ellis in 1965. The single sold over a million copies, and peaked at number eight in the US and number six in the UK. I first heard The Belle Stars' cover of it on Top of the Pops when I was a kid and was instantly spellbound!

‘Die, My Love’ directed by Lynne Ramsay and starring Jennifer Lawrence, Robert Pattinson, Sissy Spacek, Nick Nolte, and LaKeith Stanfield is screening at The BFI London Film Festival in October.
